o       How does your chapter currently extend invitations into the community for chapter events?

 

o       Does your chapter have regular attendees who would be considered a core group of committed participants at your dances and events?

 

o       Do you already have fundraising events in place?  If so, describe.

 

o       Are your members active in the Philanthropic Community?

 

o       Are your members active in the Arts Community?

 

o       Average Attendance figure /Demographics? 

 

o       Within these figures, are there members who would be interested in taking on this program? 

 

o       Are you aware of any social ballroom dancing programs being taught currently in public schools in your area? Either during or after school hours?

 

o       If so – describe? Who are the instructors and what are their certifications? Is the program sponsored or is there tuition charged?

 

o       Do you have any public school educators (or members with access to educators) in your chapter?

 

o       Do you have a motivated individual – capable of coordinating your chapter’s efforts?*

*This could be an annual position – however, this individual is responsible for liaising with WDAF professionals, classroom coordinators, school administrators and USA Dance volunteers. Developing these relationships (and maintaining continuity of communication and service) is very important - therefore, we recommend the position be held for a minimum of 2 years - with the incoming coordinator’s term overlapping.

 

• Do you have members that would be willing (and available) to volunteer to go into the classrooms to assist the professional instructor for the program?

This might require a commitment of some dance and logistical training with WDAF professionals (prior to the classroom experiences) as well as conformity to all public school policies – including background security checks and volunteer approval process by local school board.

 

• Do you have a regular venue which could be made available for training purposes – if necessary? If so – approx. square footage / floor dimensions and description?

 

• Do you have any members that own a local business (or in contact with any

        business) that could benefit from the Corporate Sponsorship Package?
